I had a great shoot today with the lovely and gorgeous McFarlin family! Baby Warren just celebrated his first birthday earlier this month, so we celebrated with balloons and an awesome cake, made just for him. It was hilarious and adorable watching him tear into it and even more awesome to see Momma Lea not even bat an eye at her frosting covered baby. 1st Father’s Day!

I was so excited to photograph Diana, Michael and baby Eli this (h u m i d ) morning! The last time I photographed these guys, Diana was only a few weeks from having Eli, their first born, and we all couldn’t wait to meet him. Three months later, he’s all anyone could hope for and more- a healthy, happy, beautiful baby boy and with Father’s Day tomorrow, I couldn’t be more honored to be the first to photograph this new family all together. Happy Father’s Day to all you Dad’s out there- from first timers to Great Grand Dads!

Tyler & Ashley

I love these guys. Okay, I’m biased… they are good friends of mine and their dog and my dog are bestie’s (it’s adorable), but still, I love these guys. Ashley is the most wonderfully goofy person I know and Tyler is a thoughtful man of few words, and together they make a perfectly balanced couple who love the simple things- good food, good friends and good times. I am sooo looking forward to their upcoming wedding, that I also have the honor of photographing, this Thanksgiving in Austin. Here are my favorites from our recent engagement shoot. I recently had the honor of photographing James and Curtis McMurtry, the immensely talented father and son folk-rock and Americana singer/songwriters. This was my second time photographing James, an Austin local, Continental Club fixture and son of Larry McMurtry, the American novelist, essayist, bookseller and screenwriter. Curtis, James’ son and Larry’s grandon, is following in his family footsteps of talented artists and wordsmiths, performing solo all over the country and with his band, God’s Chosen People, when he is back home in Austin. If you’re in New Orleans or Nashville in the next week, look for Curtis playing around town as he is performing along the way back to NYC where he is in his senior year at Sarah Lawrence.
